Roadtrip!

It is an absolutely gorgeous day here in Delaware, Ohio. The sun is shining and the temperature is just perfect for putting the top down, turning up the radio and taking a ride … a ride to anywhere, really. Even the Kroger will do. There is just something thrilling about feeling the sun on my face and the wind in my hair. Running errands is like taking a vacation when you own a convertible!

I am taking a roadtrip to Pennsylvania next week, leaving Sunday after church and returning next Saturday afternoon. It will be like a “whistle-stop tour” as I intend to see as many of my friends and family as possible. After moving to Indiana with CardioNet in 2003, and even after starting seminary full-time in January 2007, I made frequent business trips to Philadelphia, which gave me the opportunity to visit friends there. However, I have not been back to Philadelphia since I resigned from CardioNet in January 2008. Since I am not taking classes this summer, I am taking advantage of some of my “free” time to reconnect with loved ones. In particular, I am looking forward to visiting my sister and her husband. Their granddaughter, Rowan, who lives in Washington State, has come East to spend part of the summer with both sets of grandparents. Although my visit will be short, I am looking forward to some “quality time” with Rowie.

I plan to blog throughout the trip – sort of like a travelogue. Perhaps I’ll post some pics, too. Of course, I can just hear some of you now, “Robin, make sure you STOP to take pictures!” For those who don’t know, I had a little “mishap” last year when I attempted to simultaneously take pictures and drive my convertible. I never did find that phone in the cornfield! But I have learned my lesson – I now tether my phone to the charger!

Happy trails! Until next time … peace.
