I have arrived safely in Halifax … but my luggage hasn’t. But things could certainly be worse. I must say that the Continental Airlines baggage claim folks at the Halifax airport were wonderful! Very nice and helpful. My luggage is likely on the next flight from Newark to Halifax, and there are a few women involved in the Georgia Harkness Scholars program on that flight. The baggage claim folks checked with the customs officers and, if my luggage arrives on that flight, they will give it to those women who can bring it to our hotel for me. That sure beats waiting for the lost luggage shuttle to get it here! I have already met some wonderful women and am looking forward to talking and sharing more with them over the next several days as we explore Canadian culture and religious communities.
